Our story
Message from the founder
Young people are the future, the new force behind change; yet, adolescents are often overlooked for being ‘too young’. The rejection from organizations that I have faced as a result of my age has catalyzed me to create a platform where adolescents can express their thoughts, values and beliefs without fear of being judged.
In June of 2020, I founded EyesOnYouth, an international youth-led nonprofit organization aiming to amplify youth voices while raising awareness about global issues through digital magazines, virtual events and interviews. I started by creating a logo and website. Within a month, writers slowly trickled in and the slogan was created: “The world deserves to ‘see’ you”. With my growing network of contributors, I was able to create “See You in Five”, a five-minute video interview series bringing together hard-working and driven young entrepreneurs from around the world to share their stories of change.
From starting solo to recruiting an international executive team, EyesOnYouth has achieved tremendous success. We have since published 100+ writers, amassed 4800+ Instagram followers, organized eight events, impacted 7000+ youth in 47+ countries, established a partnership with TNO, Toronto’s largest government-funded newcomer agency, and been approached by CBC Kids News for a potential partnership. I am excited about what's to come!
The future is ours to shape and we are the people who need to be piloting change.
