This piece is about the strengths of online classes and promotes an optimistic outlook on an otherwise deficient situation. The reason why I chose to write about this is because a lot of people are doing fully online classes and they are stressed out. So I want to tell them some of the strengths of online classes because everything has its own strengths and weaknesses, am I right? There are times when I don’t want to do anything, I just want to lay down and rest! As a grade 9 student, it’s been an especially tough year. It’s my first year of high school and I missed the first day. As challenging as online classes are, there have been some upsides that I would like to share:

Learning from your own home
Let’s face it, everyone has a time when they don’t want to leave their home. That is totally ok! Sometimes life is stressful and your body needs a break. So online classes can be the perfect time for staying at home and an indoor break.
You can study at your own pace
As a slow learner, I am happy to study at my own pace without feeling rushed or without feeling that time will run out! I can just be myself (the slow learner me) without feeling you are frazzled by the flipping of papers and the chatters that would be otherwise present in a classroom full of people
Reduced pressure
Sometimes I feel like going to school gives me stress and pressure. There is always a huffy air of competition and comparisons that stuff up the classrooms. There are strict teachers who contribute to the stuffy classrooms and give me the jitters... With online classes, you can learn in a safe, pressure-free environment that you are comfortable with, without anxiety-inducing teachers and competitive classmates.
Even with these obvious strengths of online classes, I will always prefer going to school in person but we don’t really have a choice with this pandemic around so the better way to deal with this kind of situation is my being optimistic. Remember, there will always be a bright side to everything. You just need to use the time to think of the good things around us and from there, you will one day realize that there are many awesome things we should be grateful for.
